冬天的時候，在街頭開始看到下雪穿的雪靴，就是那種內裡是羊毛，外皮經油鞣法（oil tanned）製成的麂皮(chamois leather)皮革。
大家談到UGG，可能有一些人就會聯想到Australia UGG，不過沒想到查了一下資料，原來UGG Boot指的是澳州傳統的羊毛鞋！但是為了正名（在地民族魂燃燒），UGG和Uggs-N-Rugs這兩個廠商還來了一場商標大戰。本篇先以Deckers Outdoor Corporation的UGG Australia介紹。再談談Uggs-N-Rugs這家澳州當地小公司的商標戰爭（後來Uggs-N-Rugs贏了！）

歷史：
1978年，一個澳州衝浪者Brian Smith，從澳州海灘來回UGG樣式的鞋子，回到加州後就開了UGG® Australia這個公司。
1995年美國服飾大廠Deckers Outdoor Corporation（旗下名牌有 Deckers Flip Flops、Teva、Simple Shoes、Tsubo）買下。
鞋款：
Classic Collection
澳州傳統基本款，Molded EVA outsole讓鞋子本身輕量並有彈性，純羊毛的材質可以吸溼排熱。
Ultra Collection
Deckers將傳統的UGG鞋再改良，將鞋墊設計成可以拆下清洗，並且利用Molded rubber強化鞋底的舒適度。
Ultimate
Ultra的再進化版，比較多著墨在鞋底，腳前後跟的材質強化。
Casual Collection：
就是一般女鞋
Slipper Collection
無鞋帶的休閒鞋
版權大戰：
1971年Shane Stedman在澳州註冊了Ugh-boot商標，隨後被美國的Deckers Outdoor Corporation買下，並且再1999年追加註冊UGG Australia的商標。
2003年開始Deckers社開始對澳州各家製作UGG鞋子或使用「ugh boots」商標的廠商進行法律上控告。
一家位於西澳的公司Uggs-N-Rugs（擁有者是Bruce and Bronwyn McDougall），就開始了法律上的反擊，要求Deckers社要移除UGG Australia的Australia註記，2006年1月Deckers敗訴，就將UGG Australia改成UGG® Australia（請大家注意R的位置不一樣哦），下面是法官的聲明：
the evidence overwhelmingly supports the proposition that the terms UGH BOOT(S), UG BOOT(S) and UGG BOOT(S) are interchangeably used to describe a specific style of sheepskin boot and are the first and most natural way in which to describe these goods which should innocently come to the minds of people making this particular style of sheepskin boot
不過很意外的是Deckers社在敗訴後也沒有再進行上訴的動作，目前就是維持UGG或UGH鞋子是大家都可製作的狀態。其實證據也很明顯，Deckers的UGG全系列鞋款，除了30週年紀念款是澳州做的外，其他都是Made in China，我個人認為法官的裁定很正確。
看來商標權真是一門學問（一直想到crocs以及porter戰爭），不過一個製造商有勇氣對抗大財團公司的耐力（和財力），實在很令人佩服，那天搞不好出現了藍白拖大戰也說不一定。
