主題: Nightmarket 2006 is a design and prototyping workshop for creative designers and skilled practitioners. Since the Asia Reality 2005 workshop, we experienced great creativity and energy of graduate and undergraduate students in Taiwan. It made us to think about how to extend the passion of creating Taiwanese interactive arts installations. Why not we do it again? We found that providing a resourceful environment and gathering interdisciplinary people are the keys for a successful workshop and great inventions.

Nightmarket experience is easy for Taiwanese people to think with. Because it's so close to Taiwanese people's life, it contains great resources for making interesting arts. Nightmarket experience was a hot topic in Asia Reality 2005 workshop. Several striking prototypes came up related to the Nightmarket theme, i.e. Eat-Eat-Eat, Screaming Market, Taiker KTV, and Shadow Talk. Those four prototypes will also be demonstrated in Nightmarket 2006 by their inventors.

In Nightmarket 2006, four media artists / scientists and several invited guests will gather together for a three-day marathon workshop. Ideas will be quickly prototyped by utilizing powerful prototyping systems we brought. Jackie Lee and his Attentive Interaction Design Toolkit will emphasize on interpreting human attentive behavors for interactive space design. Jurgen Scheible and his python-driven Nokia phones will make it easy to let data go through your cellphone or any bluetooth devices. Hyemin Chung and her peer-to-peer sensing/transmitting hardware will enable us to design ways of transmitting our feelings to someone far away. Edward Shen and his common language processing system will make it easy to record and organize the human experience into movies. We expect that great ideas will come out and got implemented by our handy software and hardware resources during the workshop.

這次有勞 jackie 李佳勳在波士頓百忙之餘還規劃草創這個為期三天的短期workshop，並邀請了與他一同設計情人杯的 Hyemin Chung、Edward，以及他的友人Jurgen Scheible一同回台舉辦一場小型的工作坊，試圖將一些技術應用透過這樣的活動，介紹給學子或是有興趣的社會大眾。這次活動將以視覺辨識toolkit、手機通訊、無線感測技術和腳本規劃介面為基礎初步規劃為下列四組：
